In the first week of December, our school took part in English in Action, an initiative that provides English project weeks in Austrian schools. During this week, we had two native speakers from the U.K. teaching the 3rd and 4th form in English from lesson 1 through to lesson 6- and that for a whole week. The students were able to choose from a wide range of modules beforehand, starting from “dress to impress” to “escape the room”. The variety of lessons was incredible: Not only because our pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves but also because the lessons had a great impact on their English skills. Having two native speakers as their teachers for the whole week, also encouraged those who are usually reserved because there was no alternative but to communicate in English. On the final day, the 3rd and 4th form performed for the whole school and their parents and friends were invited to watch the plays.
It was amazing to experience how much our students grew in such a short amount of time.
